Franz Roman Schmid at the VHS Science Contest Finals

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the VHS science program, a science competition was held. Franz Roman Schmid represented the Vienna CogSciHub.

The VHS Science Program recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The event also included a science competition. Franz Roman Schmid was one of the 6 finalists and presented his research to a wide audience. Even though he didn't win first place, Franz was able to promote cognitive science research.

Franz Roman Schmid is a PhD student in the "Unlocking the Muse" project. Under supervision from and in cooperation with Dr. Julia Crone, he will use Ultrasound Brainstimulation and Neuroimaging to unravel the connections between Parkinson's Diesease and artistic expression and creativity.

Franz obtained his master's degree in cognitive science at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Besides his studies, he could gain research and work experience in Neurostimulation, Neuroimaging, and other research methods at the Medical University of Vienna, the University of Vienna, the Max-Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, and the MRI Lab at the University of Graz.
